The local Hancock fabric store is have a fantastic store closing sale which is bittersweet. I was happy to stock up on these lovely cotton fabrics to make some lil dresses with. Thanks to Ebay, I located a power cord for the ol’ Elna, and once I figure out how to oil the machine and give it a tune up I will be ready to sew. Anyone have any recommendations on what type of oil to use on the Elna? I seem to have misplaced the factory oil and the manual for the machine.

Right now I am working on some experimental 22×28 inch acrylic paintings as a commission. Here are the 2 paintings; one is unfinished.

Due in November is a baby girl…my baby girl.

Hello Chick

Hello Chick” illustration by Mandy Sutcliff. Check out her Etsy store.

Well, friday I have an ultrasound appointment. We are the type of folks who like to know if the baby will be a boy or a girl. If the tech tells me its a girl, I am going to come home and purchase a lovely little European-styled dress from lebouton. If I find out its a boy, I might still buy a dress for him. Just kidding. I just love these handmade frocks.

For the first time, we, the Popes, have a house with a room dedicated to work. Our “blue room” is full of books, supplies, a desk, and now my drafting table for painting. So last night I set up the palette and finished  a little painting of a train that I had started one day on the porch table while I watched the boys play.

The art exhibit is now online. So click here to take a look at the competition. I am happy to have sold my painting already. Thanks, whoever you are who keeps buying my paintings.
