Oh, I won’t be blogging for a short while because I fell and broke my hand.

It is so hard for me not to take my splint off and start drawing, so I am going to visit family (out-of-state) for a while.  I hope everyone enjoys the MLK Holiday weekend.

If you would like to see the newly designed stamps sets, visit Flourishes.  It is a small e-business in Pensacola.  I met Jan, one of owners, at a birthday party for our mutual friend Anna.  (By the way, thanks, Anna!)  Jan is so spunky and sweet, and I enjoy working with her.

Love, Lauren

I did not mention my resolutions yet, but now one seems to be almost done.  Henry is potty training.  It has been almost a week, and he seems to already have it under control.  So far no out-of-the-house accidents.

Also, we rearranged the house, and now Jane has her own room.  She made the transition from co-sleeping to her own room with no problems at all.  I must say that she is the easiest to put to sleep at night.  She often goes down silently.  She is so great.  Now I am working some room decor for her.

One resolution that will help is much-anticipated sewing corner.  This weekend we are heading to Ikea, and one thing I need to find is a small table for my sewing machine.  I also need to thread my serger that was purchased used last summer.

Sorry that I have not had a lot of new artwork to show lately. Family time has risen on my list of priorities.  I have been working for a local stamping company, and they are going to release my first designs soon.

Back on the easel, just waiting for paint, is my portrait of Father David.  I also have a ballet slipper still life set up.  …just waiting for the time.

The deadline for entries in the Greenhouse Gallery‘s annual Salon has come and gone.  I had hoped to do something spectacular and win a top prize just like Cecilia Beaux did in her 30th year, but that did not happen.  I just entered the leek still life and the handmade doll still life.  If either are accepted, then I am already a winner.  That show is really attracting more professional painters (who don’t have anything but time on their hands).

Here is the painting that got Cecilia Beaux noticed:

Jonathan gave me a Nikon D90 for Christmas.  It is amazing!  I love it.  Here are some photos from our Christmas trip.  These were taken at Remy and Bethany’s house. They have 3 children as do we.
