One of the next pieces I am working on is an oil portrait combining feminism (little “f”), the US Navy, and photography in the style of a WWI/WWII war poster.  This is one of the sketches:

Rough sketch for poster-style portrait by you.

I forgot to tell you what I got Jonathan for his birthday.  I found him a really lovely tea pot at nest-living.com:

New Tea Pot by you.

So we have been enjoying tea together lately.  I love to sit with Jonathan and read.  He fixes me iced Darjeeling tea with coconut milk.  We also have been enjoying his ukulele given to him by his parents after their trip to Hawaii.  Jane and the boys dance and play music together while Jonathan serenades us.  Happy Birthday, Jonathan!

Ukelele by you.

Modern rock and pop music was not allowed at the college I attended.  So for 5.5 years of undergrad and 2 more of grad school, I spent without much input from the radio or MTV.   Today I did a little catch up with the help of Pitchfor:P2K.  This website has posted the best 500 songs of the 2000′s.  Well, Friday, just a few hours away, they will announce their top 20.

I found some songs I really like in the top 100.  Ranking at no. 25,”Umberella” by Rihanna really entertained me.  I also enjoyed the group Hot Chip for the first time.  Anthony and the Johnsons have a great song at no. 28.   I had heard the White Stripe’s “Seven Nation Army” and was glad to see it at 30.

What will be no.1? Find out here.  Listen to the music for free while you are at it.

Here is the latest portrait hot off the easel.  Haha!

Commissioned pet portrait by you.

Carnival by you.

Yes, it is done.  I will be busy tomorrow working on designs for Flourishes stamps, but on Wednesday I will get some photos to post.  I actually finished my peacock feather painting and a portrait painting of 4 dogs.  It was a very good day.

Time to sleep!  Hooray!
